Julius Petran Jr. (Pete) 88, passed away November 30, 2018 after a brief illness. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis for 64 years. wonderful father of 3 to the late Fred. Michael (Holly) and James (Janet) Petran. Proud grandfather of his 3 grandsons Bryan, Michael and Andrew (Emily) and his “favorite” granddaughter Madeline. Loving brother of the late Mary Petran, Marge Dennin and like a brother to his cousins Anton (Nancy) and Walter (Jolenta) Petran. Good old “Uncle Pete” to many nieces and nephews, and great friend to many.
Pete was born in Chicago August 5, 1930, the son of Julius Sr. and Anna. He attended Foreman High School. At 21 he began working for Burroughs Corporation and stayed there 40 years, first repairing business machines and later as a sales manager until his retirement. Then he could spend more time at his passion of woodworking. He taught classes at local stores and at Prospect High School night classes.
He was a resident of Mt. Prospect for 57 years and was a Little League baseball coach for many. He coached football in the Mt. Prospect Youth Football League for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and was a big Cubs fan. As a handyman he could fix almost anything around the house, and did so countless times for family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Service Friday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.
